I’ve been teaching English and IELTS prep for nearly a decade, over that time I’ve experienced how rewarding it can be to see my students achieve their IELTS goals.
IELTS opens so many doors around the world and I’m always excited to help candidates reach their potential.
While teaching, I taught myself to code; over the last few years I have built this website, as well as two IELTS Android apps.
Tom Speed
I studied English at university, and have spent the last 12 years teaching General English, Academic English and IELTS Preparation.
I have extensive experience in classroom and online teaching and am deeply sensitive to the needs of individual learners.
Helping people achieve their IELTS goals, thus enabling them to work or study abroad, is extremely rewarding and teaching has given me the opportunity to meet and help lots of wonderful people from all over the world.
Paul Williams
Since obtaining a CELTA qualification in 2015, I have been teaching General, Business and Academic English, along with preparation for IELTS, University Admissions and Job Interviews.
IELTS allows people to achieve their dreams of moving abroad and being able to assist students in this process is extremely fulfilling.
Teaching a variety of nationalities is something I embrace, as well as the unique challenges that are presented with each student.

Very helpful lessons!
I started 1 to 1 classes in order to improve my band score for Writing from 7.0 to 7.5. After 6 lessons with Tom spread over 4 weeks, in which we practiced answering different types of essay questions and letters, I scored 8.0 for Writing. Tom was a great teacher, very friendly, professional, positive and helpful. His feedback on my homework essays was specific and positive, and he always provided me with the necessary information and examples to improve a certain grammatical difficulty. My most important lesson was that it is important to envision a clear structure for the task and fully develop ideas and support them with arguments. I definitely felt a lot of improvement over the course of 4 weeks. For me, these lessons were exactly what I needed in order to reach my goal. Thank you Tom!
IELTS Speaking
Paul is the best tutor I could have had. He gave me feedback after every part of the speaking test and suggested new ideas on how to improve. We set goals and achieved them. Learning with a tutor is necessary if you want to pass IELTS with a high score. For Chinese students like me, wirting and speaking are their weak points, because we don’t speak or wirte with English very often. Luckily, I found Sam, who is a really good tuor, very amiable, dedicated and responsible, and began to organize my study courses on speaking and writing. After 2 month’s work, I passed IELTS academic with an overall score of 8. To my surprise, my reading and listening scores were higher than expected,too. I think it may be the result of talking with an English tutor helps with your listening at the same time. What’s more, 1 week before the exam, Sam gave me some advice on how to warm up which was very useful. So I strongly recommend you to study with Sam.
